My Boy Elroy

My Boy Elroy is the Chicago-based DJ and Beat-Boxer for the world renown acid jazz & Grammy nominated live act, Liquid Soul. He is also a featured DJ from the group Digital Tape Machine and producer of their first album, "Be Here Now," released in May 2013, and their four track EP, "Omens," released the following year featuring Kris Myers and Joel Cummins of Umphrey's McGee.

My Boy Elroy first electrified the Chicago music scene with a sold-out September 2005 show at the Riviera for the English trip-hop group, Massive Attack. That same year, he began his tenure as the Music and Creative Director and DJ for Chicago's Midnight Circus in the Parks which showcases the world-class contemporary performance of the most talented aerial and floor acrobats in the city. Midnight Circus was also the first American circus troupe to be invited to the acclaimed MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CIRQUE in Quebec, 2014.

Since the blow-out at the Riviera, My Boy Elroy has shared the bill with the legendary Stevie Wonder for the JazzaNova Festival in Austria, and B.B. King at the Chicago House of Blues. Additionally, he has performed with the pioneers of electronic music FKJ, Bonobo, Beardyman, Paul Johnson, Kerri Chandler, Marques Wyatt, and Mark Farina. Hugely active in the festival circuit, My Boy Elroy enjoys performing at North Coast, Electric Forest, Taste of Randolph, and Mamby on the Beach most notably.

My Boy Elroy’s DJ styles combine buttery and emotional mixes with productions of deep and funky House, Nu Disco, Tech House, and Instrumental hip-hop, interlacing beat box and scratching intervals to create a completely original DJ experience and musical performance. With a vast catalog of eclectic mixes, My Boy Elroy has spent his entire professional career since 13, producing original music with releases on Apulia Records, Bulletdodge, Slur, Elevate Tracks, JQM Records, Sea of Sand, and Friction Free.
